The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents based on being qualified in a skilled trade.
Have at least two years of full-time work experience (or an equal amount of part-time work) in a skilled trade within the last five years. The work experience must be in an occupation classified under the NOC (National Occupational Classification) as Skill Level B.
Either have a valid job offer for at least one year from a Canadian employer OR Hold a certificate of qualification in that skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial or territorial authority.
Meet the minimum language threshold required for the Federal Skilled Trades Program by taking a recognized language test in English or French (e.g., IELTS for English or TEF for French).
Have enough funds to settle in Canada, unless you: Are currently authorized to work in Canada. Have a valid job offer from a Canadian employer.
Create an Express Entry profile and be eligible for the Federal Skilled Trades Program.
Be admissible to Canada, meaning you must not pose a security risk, have serious criminal convictions, or be in violation of immigration laws.
